RUNNING FOR AUTISM

Kyle Rivera - a PALS Board Member, and mother of Noah, a young boy with ASD, ran and completed the ING. Her story gave me goose bumps.
This is the story that Kyle shared with me about her race.
She woke the morning of the race without a voice, but she went. By the forth mile she couldn't breath and had this terrible feeling in her throat, but she continued to run. At mile 14 she broke down and started to cry and calling her husband. She knew she was conditioned for the race. She just wasn't feeling well. However, she told me that all the time she keep thinking about all the individuals that live with autism. She told me they can't quit whenever they are feeling bad. She had to keep going and going she did. By mile marker 16 she lost her big toe nail and just continued with the pain. At mile marker 19 the pain was so intense she started to walk and then started running again at 23. Within 1 mile it started to rain on her, BUT SHE FINISHED. This is what she told me," I was miserable but I would do it again tomorrow for all the amazing constituents with autism.
