is a summer inclusive camp program offered in Seminole, Orange and Brevard Counties

CONFERENCES

Training for Early Diagnosis of Autism
  In collaboration with the CARD conference, PALS provided training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), the “gold-standard” diagnostic tool for assessing children and adults with autism spectrum disorders.  Over 50 Florida professionals attended this training, enhancing the number of trained evaluators across the PALS region as well as the rest of the state.

Conference Scholarships
to attend the CARD Annual Conference and other local conferences to enhance education.



Summer Institute Training.   In conjunction with Orange County Schools, a seven day summer Autism Institute for teachers and educational professionals

FAMILY SUPPORT & EVENTS


Skate Jam -an annual interactive autism awareness event that provides demonstration and skateboard lessons to children with ASD and their siblings.

Sibshops-provide a safe, open environment for borthers and sisters of individuals with ASD, ages 5-15, to have a unique fun experience with others just like them.

Sisters' Club -is designed for typical sisters of children with ASD who often find themselves in more responsible and mature roles than other girls their age. This is their chance to meet and hang out and have some girl fun all by themselves.  The club meets monthly during the school year.

Modern Teen - is designed for adolescents and young adults with ASD to practice social, work and self-advocacy skills in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

Knight PALS - a college club that includes individuals with ASD 18 and over to attend community events with peers.

Family Fun Days-ole' fashion family fun and games.  Look for dates and locations throughout Central Florida in the spring and fall.Events may include picnics with games and fun for all, movies, bowling, ice-skating or miniature golf.
